to Merrick from the cairn and trig point at the top of Cairnsmore of
Dee. Below is the view looking SE.
Criffel
is just to the left of Dunkie in that picture, Screel
and Bengairn lie to the right of the cairn. Between the cairn and
Screel you can just see the Solway
Firth glinting in the sun with the faintest hint of the Lake
District beyond.
