14 Looking SW from the top of Cairnsmore of Dee you see the great bulk of Cairnsmore of Fleet - the third Cairnsmore. Our line of descent will later bring us down to the red asterisk near the left side of the picture, though at this point in time we hadn't seriously thought of going that way. To the right of that you can see where they have been felling and you can see a forest track running through this felled area. Seeing this track perhaps planted the seed of the idea in our heads of going down that way though of course we would want to avoid having to cross the felled ground. Freedom to roam allows you to break out of any fixed mental moulds you might have and go where you will as circumstances and the mood takes you. The Raider's Road runs in the valley just beyond the asterisk.
