12 This is the view looking back up towards Benniguinea from the col. You can see why I told you to keep to the left coming down there, and you can also see that you need an eye for a path. You can see it ahead of Sandy here as no more than a line of disturbed grass - probably by animals. Where this path of sorts crosses, as it does, great outcrops of granite you have to really look to see where the path exits from the granite - that's certainly the easiest place to lose it. Below is the view north from the col to another of the three "Cairnsmores" which are in this area. That is Cairnsmore of Carsphairn on the left. I have done my best to name the other hills that you can see here - just mousover to see the names. You will find these hills in the Scaur section of this site.
