17 In the picture above we have come over the rise that we saw on page 16, are heading just east of north and that is now Pykestone Hill in front of us. The Thief's Road has been taken over by the vehicle track and the fence as ever is with us. Unknown to me there were 3 walkers hidden in the dip between here and Pykestone when I took the above picture and I got quite a suprise when they suddenly appeared quite near me. They were all roughly my age and they had come down from Kirkintilloch north of Glasgow to walk from Drumelzier village over the Thief's Road to Dollar Law and back by the Stanhope Burn glen. I met them again down by the bottom of the Hopecarton Burn when I came off Dulyard Brae. They were from the Strathkelvin Walking Club and I had a good crack with them.
