04 This is the point where you leave the forest track if you are doing the most popular Screel walk (red and yellow on the map on page 01). The path onto Screel follows the line of the dry stane dyke to the left of the tree on the right of the picture (red route). The forest road you have walked on so far proceeds straight ahead here, not though the gate.

If however you want to follow either the green route along the forest track up onto Bengairn or the yellow route past Foresthill onto Bengairn you will go through the gate shown here and continue on the forest track beyond it.
