02 There is plenty of parking around the harbour area in Portpatrick. The Southern Upland Way (SUW) starts from just here on the west coast of Scotland and travels 212 miles across to Cockburnspath on the east coast through the border country. Most people walk this route west to east. If you did walk the SUW east to west this would be the last few feet of the 212 miles and would surely be a very welcome sight. This shot is out of sequence and actually comes from the end of our day - in full afternoon light as you can see. It is put here to show you the the general lay out of the harbour, the parking and the town. |
