Looking east towards Wardlaw from the road near the car park at Castle Corner Caerlaverock with geese in the field

26 Looking east from the public highway towards Wardlaw near the carpark at Castle Corner on a quiet day for geese - I have seen this field filled with them. I have also quite often seen deer in these fields. The water in the foreground is just a large puddle at the edge of the field.

The road here is on national cycle route 7 which takes you from Gretna to Glasgow through some beautiful Dumfriesshire, Galloway and Ayrshire countryside. I use (fairly regularly) a 20 mile cycle circuit from Dumfries down the landward road past Bankend and Caerlaverock and back up the river past Glencaple and Kelton - it is a privilege to stay in this part of the world!
