06 This is a bay called Portlennie just south of Portankill. As you can see it is a pebble beach. You can probably hear in your imagination the clattering sound that these waves are making as they tumble those pebbles back and forth up and down the beach. I have always liked to guddle about the stones on such a beach and I can't resist taking some of them home. So in the picture below you can see the pebbles I stuffed into my pack. We found quite a bit of flint here and Sandy reckoned that it would not have belonged here originally, but would have been ballast jettisoned from some old boat at one time | |||||
