07 When the tide is low you can head east over the north end of Garlieston Bay rather than follow the road and path out towards Eggerness Point. The water's edge is just a riot of wild flowers and at this time of year the butterflies are making good use of them. In the pictures below I have zoomed in to the above picture.
While trying to work out what the yellow flower is in the picture below, the nearest I have come to it so far is Isle of Man Cabbage.
The flower in the second picture below could be a Melancholy Thistle
If you are interested in seeing the war remains then you should go at low tide At high tide, not much of them would be visible.
