10 Here we are near the top of Cairnharrow looking SW over the Wigtown Peninsula to the pale shape of the Isle of Man on the distant horizon. Garlieston where several prototypes for the Mulberry Harbour were tested during WW2 lies at the head of the deeply indented bay that you see on the Wigtown Peninsula.
