16 From the shore of Loch Neldricken looking back the way we have come with Benyellary in the middle of the background and the long slope up to the Merrick which is known as the Neive of the Spit running to the right - the tourist route onto Merrick goes that way. Many people going up this route for the first time think that they are getting to the top of Merrick as they approach the top of Benyellary and then they see the big boy in front along the Neive and they realise that they have a lot more work to do. But the Merrick looks really majestic from there and the Neive is a wonderful place to be in itself with views over to where this picture was taken from.
