17 This is the view over to Cairnsmore of Carsphairn and the Scaur hills from the lochans. That's bog cotton in the foreground. A really beautiful place to be on a day like this. It had been overcast when we started off at 10am and the forecast was for showers in the afternoon, so we were delighted that the forecasters got it wrong. The wind was in the NW and had quite a nip to it, so we were glad of the shelter the cairn on the top of Cairnsmore offered us while we had our piece (Scots word for a snack) facing south to the sun. We stayed there for quite a while soaking everything in - even a wee nip of Glenmorangie - life is not all bad is it? |
